Founded in 1994, PenTeleData has been setting new standards in telecommunications and Internet technology. In the early 1990s, PenTeleData’s founders positioned the company to provide Internet connectivity beyond standard dial-up access. They recognized the potential opportunities of a strategic partnership with cable providers and telephone companies of Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

Today, that strategic partnership allows PenTeleData to provide virtually everything that is Internet and telecommunications-related, from high-speed connections with PenTeleData to our partners individually who design and provide the latest in cable television and telephone service. We continue to work to stay ahead of the technology curve so our customers stay ahead of the competition.

With the extensive resources of these partners, the PenTeleData network was born:

• Over $300 million invested in fiber optic infrastructure


• Over 5,000 miles of fiber optic wiring deployed


• 60 Points of Presence (PoPs) throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey

Then in early 2005, PenTeleData launched a Wi-Fi Internet access solution, Unleashed, with a unique purpose: To provide wireless hotspot Internet access as an additional feature of PenTeleData’s High-Speed broadband Internet service, giving customers the ability to take their high-speed broadband Internet service with them on the road.


PenTeleData has engineered one of the largest, privately owned fiber optic networks in the nation.
